Intercultural Consultation Services

Welcome to Intercultural Consultation Services's Website!

We are a non-profit, faith-based 501(c)(3) corporation, established in Detroit, Michigan in July, 2006 to promote understanding, respect and mutuality among peoples of different cultures, especially individuals and groups called to cross-cultural settings.

We provide the following services through individually-designed programs presented either in Detroit or at your site in the U.S. or abroad.

      Preparation for cross-cultural ministry:

Discernment and orientation for those changing ministry to a new cultural setting. Preparation for short term immersion experiences.

          Acculturation

An orientation for International Priests and Religious entering ministry in USA.

          Seminar / workshops

On mission, culture, living in other cultures and diversity.

          Reflective Retreat

            For individual or small groups.

          Staff cross-cultural training

For those who work with those of various cultural backgrounds.

At the core of our programs is our belief that women and men can value cultural diversity, as a source of giftedness and blessing rather than as a source of tension. The programs are experiential, inclusive, collaborative, mutual and gospel-based.

The following webpages explain in greater detail how we accomplish these goals and how we can help your employees or missioners acclimate to new cultural environments.

Sincerely,

Kathryn T. Pierce IHM,

              Executive Director
